The Melges 15 EUROPEAN WINTER SERIES in Cascais
🌊 Thrilling races in Cascais! The Melges 15 European Winter Series brings together sailors from all over Europe – and Switzerland was on board. 🇨🇭⛵
The Melges 15 European Winter Series is establishing itself as a key event in the European sailing calendar. The series consists of three regattas held at the renowned Clube Naval de Cascais in Portugal. The dates for the 2024–2025 season are:
- 15–17 November 2024
- 7–9 February 2025
- 17–19 April 2025
These regattas offer sailors from all over Europe the opportunity to compete in challenging Atlantic conditions. The events attract both seasoned crews and newcomers, resulting in a dynamic and competitive fleet.
Last season, Switzerland was proud to be represented by a team from the Yachting Club Cern. The crew, consisting of Kevin Brazel, Emmet Ryan, and James Ryan, delivered an impressive performance and helped strengthen the Swiss presence in the international Melges 15 scene.
We at Melges Switzerland were also on site to support the Swiss teams and foster the growing Melges 15 community. Our presence highlights our commitment to further developing the sport of sailing in Switzerland and encouraging exchange with the international sailing community.
For sailors interested in participating in the upcoming season, there are several options. Melges Switzerland offers Melges 15 boats for purchase, which can be delivered directly to the first event and transported to the home club after the series. For those without their own boat, a charter option is available for all three events – including rigging, sails, and training days before the regattas. Melges Switzerland also supports with organisation and coordination to make participation as easy as possible for Swiss teams. Thanks to our partnership with Sail Cascais, comprehensive storage and service solutions are available, allowing sailors to fully focus on the competition.
The Melges 15 European Winter Series in Cascais has already completed two exciting stages – but one highlight is still to come! From 17 to 19 April 2025, teams from across Europe will once again gather at Clube Naval de Cascais to compete in the challenging Atlantic conditions.
